Our excitement for the upcoming MotoGP Indonesia led us to step foot in Mandalika, on the southern part of Lombok Island. Join us in our journey exploring Mandalika before the circuit was built!
The construction of the 4.3 kilometers long circuit in Mandalika was still ongoing, with investment support from a French company, Vinci. Hosting MotoGP was such a major experience for Lombok. The enthusiasm was also built up because this event would absolutely boost the tourism sector in Lombok, after the long pandemic.
Mandalika has prepared 11 hotels with roughly 1,900 rooms for MotoGP accommodations. Bali, as the nearby island, also took its part in preparing the accommodation. Lombok is only 30 minutes away by airplane, 90 minutes by speed boat, and 5 hours by ferry.
