During the Spring Festival, the Chinese New Year I spent in China, I was caught in the party scene. This new year gives you a clean slate, a chance to sweep away all the negativity and welcome the good luck into the house and life. Being in the middle of this celebration, its inevitable to entertain people or simply attend the celebration and raise the glasses with others - for good luck! In this video, we present to you some ideas for Chinese New Year cocktails. We made a very special mojito, with 10 ingredients - all are easy to find. Follow this recipe and you will have a great party, birthday, meeting or any kind of gathering. There are also several very different drink recipes that go by the name of “Chinese cocktail”. For maximum enjoyment, you will need at least two of them in your life, naturally. I picked the two most different from each other. It seems you can put pretty much anything green together and call it a Jade. There are a few cocktails called the Jade cocktail, and theyre very different. The first version features rum, crème de menthe and Cointreau. It reminds us a bit of a Mojito because it features rum, creme de menthe and lime. Then it also adds some Cointreau orange liqueur, and it changes the flavour profile. The drink becomes citrus with hints of mint and caramel. Its refreshing and tasty neither too sweet nor too tart. The second version features Midori and champagne. It gets its green colour from Midori and blue curacao. It seemed like the flavour of champagne might get lost in the strong taste of the fruity liqueurs and the lime juice. For me personally, the first recipe is the best!
Anyway, the Chinese New Year party and all the cocktail mixing were superb. We had a good time, maybe a bit too good. Did we handle our drinking well? You will see in the video.
